At the BSCD, school uniforms must be worn daily.
School uniform is important as it helps to give us a sense of school pride and shared community. It also helps pupils to resist peer pressure to follow fashion trends, it minimises accessory-related distractions in the classroom and most importantly, it helps to diminish economic and social barriers between pupils which helps to decrease bullying.
In EYFS and In Year 1, pupils wear the PE uniform to school every day.
In Year 2 onwards, pupils have a formal uniform and a PE uniform. The PE uniform is only to be worn on days when the pupils have PE, Outdoor Learning and school trips.
For Outdoor Learning either at school or in the forest, EYFS and Primary pupils are expected to have a pair of wellington boots, a pair of waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket. These items should be stored at school in the pupils' boxes during term time.
It is recommended that pupils have an overall to wear during art and other messy activities.
We recommend an old adult-sized t-shirt or something similar.
Your child's uniform must be bought through the school's App.
