Bring it on 2025-2026! 🎉

Dear families, students, and staff,

We are delighted to welcome you back to school and to begin an exciting new chapter in the history of The British School of Costa Daurada (BSCD). Each school year is a chance to grow together, and this one brings truly special moments that we are eager to share with our community.

A Year of New Beginnings

This September, our brand-new Secondary building and learning spaces come to life. This exciting development is much more than bricks and walls—it represents an important step forward in creating an environment where our students can learn, explore, and dream big.

We also celebrate a remarkable academic achievement: our very first Year 11 students will take their official GCSE exams. After the outstanding success of our Year 10 pioneers—who earned A++ and A+ results across the board—we now look ahead with confidence to our first-ever graduation in June 2026. It will be a proud moment for the whole school community.

Building for the Future

This year also sees the launch of our Technical Management Department, which will oversee qualification validation, ESO convalidation, and the exciting arrival of our Sixth Form project. With future A-levels, careers guidance, and university pathways, we are shaping the road ahead for our students with care and ambition.

Facing the Challenges Together

Among the major challenges for this academic year are the successful operation of the new building, guiding our first Year 11 cohort through exams and graduation, and preparing for the NABSS inspection for Sixth Form in December 2025. We are also committed to strengthening management and internal organisation, improving processes such as uniforms, finances, and our school app, and enhancing academic support in areas like SEND, Safeguarding, and AI. At the same time, we will expand communication tools, from our website to eBooks and new app features, while laying the foundations for our future campus projects.

Our Shared Priorities

Our school-wide priorities for 2025–2026 place children at the centre of everything we do. Safeguarding and inclusion remain fundamental, ensuring that every child is safe, known, and supported. We will continue to strengthen teaching and learning through training, shared strategies, and curriculum development. Wellbeing is equally central, with positive behaviour support, pupil–parent accountability, and clear tracking systems. And collaboration will remain a hallmark of BSCD: working together as one team, building community through events, encouraging open communication, and fostering accountability as a culture of trust and support.

“This year is about building on what we’ve achieved, strengthening trust, and enjoying our work every day. We have one of the best jobs in the world, educating children, shaping lives, and making memories.”

Looking Ahead with Joy

From our humble beginnings in 2008 as a small nursery in Tarragona, our dream has always been clear: to offer quality education in English, inspired by British standards, enriched by Catalan culture, and accessible to families in our community. Guided by our values— Responsibility, Respect, Personal Best, Fairness, Kindness, and Creativity —we continue to build a school where children feel inspired, supported, and ready for the future.

“Every day counts, and every interaction matters. We come to work each day to make it memorable for children, for each other, and for ourselves.”

Together with our families, staff, and students, we are ready to make 2025–2026 a year of growth, joy, and unforgettable celebrations.
